Colour change leather sofa

I have a lovely 3 seat leather sofa in white.
It looks out of place (ex's choice) and would like to dye it black.
Have recoloured car seats, but not colour changed any.
It's an £800 sofa and don't want to ruin it....
What are my chances of success? :)

  • Very little.

The colour finish on leather furniture these days has more in common with the spray paint on a car than it has to your parents 'tanned' leather jeans

i wouldn't risk it just by some throws and cushions to match your colour scheme until you can replace it
If i knew the answers to all the questions i wouldn't be on here :p
  • Ah ok thanks.
As you say it's more painted on than dyed into.
Not to worry, just it's the only sofa I found that was comfortable.
    Thanks for your replies :)
