Hello
We have a large sash window in our 1890s end of terrace house halfway up our staircase (where the staircase turns inward into the centre of the house from downstairs) (so the sash window repair man can stand on the semi-landing of the stairs and fix the window from there) which needs a repair job and draught proofing.
Here is the quote: We live near to central Plymouth.
Replace front sill section and both side repairs.
Erase, adjust and record both windows (upper and lower)
Make sure correct weight, if not £1.95 per lb added
New window catch
draught proof system fitted
sundry items and dispose of rubbish
all new timber will be primed.
Materials and labour: £480.
20% deposit required before ordering materials.
Your thoughts/comments would be appreciated.

I know its really expensive repairing/replacing Sash Windows as my son works for a company that replaces and repairs them.
Why dont you get another quote just to see if the first quote is right.
My son is ill at the moment otherwise i would ask him how much his company charges.
He doesnt do work on the side so i am not touting for business for him.0 -
Self repair with your sash window is nice and cost friendly or you won't actually spent money if you have the tools ready but It is advisable to contact a professional repairmen to do the job for better result and time consumption. So, I advice you to contact window repair and replacement professional to get some tips.consumption.0
