Scottish Power......... I'm impressed!!
I bet no one expected THAT statement.I rang them this afternoon and got straight through!! I nearly fell off my chair in shock!! Not only that but because I had built up a fair amount of credit I thought I would ask for some of it back(not all as winter is approaching.)
I had to give up to date readings ( I had just done that anyway online) and the lady I spoke to has put up the monthly amount slightly, but only to round it up to a more memorable amount but overall I am extremely impressed with the service.
Maybe they have turned over a new leaf.Maybe they are just having a good day.Whatever,if you want to call today ,then I suggest you try whilst the going is good!!

You could well be right! But I thought I would post to help all those who are struggling with SP at the moment, perhaps the tide is turning at last.0

Don't forget the SP October 2015 Fix is very competitive right now. Higher Standing charge, but offset by low unit rates, so favours the heavy user.
A bit like Ryanair, I suppose. It's so cheap, I am willing to put up with the abuse.
Also, they can only shoot you in the back by over-estimating the final bill if you actually try to run away.0 -
True,I have had the odd problem with them but when it came to claiming for the warm home discount it was given,no questions asked(and yes I am claiming it quite legitimately!)
And when it came to the yearly review they refunded all my credit again without being asked.I am not impressed by their high standing charge,it is costly for gas in the summer but I am heavy on electricity so I suppose it evens out.My fix comes to an end next month so it will go up even more but while I have a claim in for the warm home discount, and know I will get it, it is not worth changing.0 -
Hi Froglet, I had a good deal last year with S.P. which ended 31st August this year. To renew with them it would have cost me over £160 MORE!!! I am a light user so I suppose this is why.
With much trepidation I moved to First Utility.....I was really dreading the change over, imagining every kind of problem. You could have knocked me over with a feather when the change over happened to the day they promised! Also, without asking..... they sent me an application form for Warm Front (which I had with S.P.) so, up until now I have to speak as I find concerning F.U. so far good, and I have to say the price is great.
I am however keeping my fingers crossed it continues! When man sacrifices the Love of POWER for the Power of Love, there will be peace on earth.0
