Parking eye change of address

Hi I recently moved address and forgot to inform the Dvla straightaway. In the meantime parking eye sent a letter to my old address for non payment (I was in a rush and didn't see the signs)
I eventually got the letters forwarded to me and it had got to the stage where I had the letter before court and a county county claim form for nearly £200!!
I called them and they were originally quite understanding on the phone and said they would send it to my new address. The letter came to my new address for the same amount though. I called them up and offered to pay the original figure of £60 as I am applying for a job where a ccj could affect my application but they rejected this and said they would accept £125.
Can anyone offer some advice? The deadline on their letter is this Sunday

To begin with, have a good read of the Newbies Sticky - this outlines all your options for seeing them off. :)
  • Thanks for that, it's quite a lot to take on board. Is there a particular section? I'm very time limited and might be worried about nothing but you can see I'm a noob!

Hang on - your detail is sparse. Have they reissued the LBCCC to your new address? Or the actual court papers afresh? What date is on those ORIGINAL court papers as I am thinking they are hoping to get a default judgment, as the small claim will NOT have been cancelled.

For the love of God stop offering them money. This is defendable and even the people here who lose only pay £175 -£190 so why would anyone pay a 3 figure sum now? It could end up nothing. But tell us WHAT has been reissued to you and what the date is on the court papers. And tell us please that you have read every link I have collated in post #5 of the newbies thread which tells you all you need to know for this stage, and you've got the Prankster's Guide as well.*

*if you ask what that is we will say read the Newbies thread post #5!

  • Thanks Coupon-mad, they've not reissued the papers they said they'd consider an appeal but that it won't have any effect on court proceedings? They've also said it's too late to use popla now which I'm sure is wrong.
I've sent my appeal so I'll update next week as I don't have the papers on me at the moment cos I'm away with work.
The pranksters guide is very helpful though, cheers

You need to acknowledge the court claim within 14 days you know - you have done that online with MCOL, yes? And you have noted how long you have to send the defence too (only 28 days from service of the court papers).

Never mind the ''appeal'' they are paying lip-service to it. The defence is the absolute priority or you lose by default.

So look at post #5 of the Newbies thread where I have collated most of what is known about defences, what/when/where and how to win. Read all links.
