I'm totally confused. I thought, from March this year (2014), they already had to tell of of alternative tariffs that were cheaper on your anniversary statement.
I was imagining this and there is no such obligation, yet?0 -
Personally I would be happier if Ofgem would stop fiddling about with the rules all the time.
Every time, as a low user, I always end up get charged even more for the privilege. The more I live, the more I learn.
The more I learn, the more I grow.
The more I grow, the more I see.
The more I see, the more I know.
The more I know, the more I see,
How little I know.!!0 -
But I don't trust anything they tell me.
I don't even look at the junk mail from Virgin Media.
It's always the standard mutton dressed up as lamb.0 -
Odd contract the suppliers have with white labels if Sainsbury etc are allowed to undercut.0

On my energy bill this month from Eon it says:-
Gas
You could save £49.71 by switching to:
· E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v8
· fixed monthly Direct Debit
Electricity
You could save £33.20 by switching to:
· E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v8
· fixed monthly Direct Debit
Note it says :-
fixed monthly Direct Debit
I currently pay by variable Direct Debit so that I only pay for what I use and I am not going to change that. They should not be allowed to say that you can only have that tariff if you pay by fixed Direct debit.

It's feminine logic. If you want the free sex, you have to get married, which has its implied costs, naturally. Depending on the rate hookers charge locally, it may or may not be a good deal.0 -

You can argue that no-one should pay more - but in that case you will have to take in the prepayment meters and quarterly cash payers. You may want to abolish fixed direct debit but that would simply increase their prices to your prices - you do not benefit from such a restriction.
It's your choice - if you have the discipline and flexibility to cover a quarterly bill each winter I fail to see why you cannot afford the flexibility to cover a fixed direct debit. If it's not worth £83 to you then fair enough. Seems a simple case of flushing money down the toilet for no fathomable motive.0
