DLINK G650+ / Ubuntu & WPA

I have a Dlink G650+ pcmcia wireless adapter on my laptop and use Ubuntu and XP dual-booting without any problems.
Having just upgraded the XP driver to use WPA security, I now wish to do the same on the Ubuntu side.
It seems that this is possible although a bit long winded.
Has anybody managed to do this and can give any tips or advice.
