    People have been killed in slower accidents, there is always an element of luck (or lack of it)

    From what I can make out, the insurance companies will probably assume that both drivers were just being stubborn and refusing to give way to each other.

    As soon as you mention the word "queue", this indicates that one driver or the other has falsely assumed "right of way".

    There is no such thing as a "queue" when driving, there is merely traffic.
