never never use Hoover Candy

Two months ago my fridge freezer broke down and Hoover candy said they couldn't replace it as they didn't have another model the same. Now bearing in mind that Hoover candy spent 7 weeks not calling me to let me know what was happening constantly cancelling appointments or sometimes not showing up at all. I have to look after a small child daily and during these hot months had no proper way of feeding us, or even keeping her milk cold. At last last week we had one delivered but it didn't fit so after much discussion they sent another but that didn't fit either. So now Hoover are saying well it's our problem we have an integrated fridge freezer area . So even though it's less than 2 years old and have warranty they won't help us and don't intend to provide any compensation. Can anyone help I can't afford to buy another.

I think you need to separate the original purchase rights from your warranty rights.
One big question first though. Who did you purchase the fridge/freezer from? I'm assuming that you bought it though a retailer.
You sale of goods rights rest with the original retailer. That leaves the retailer partially responsible for any failure based on the original sale.
Your warranty rights rest solely with the manufacturer and are limited to the terms outlined in the warranty documentation. This typically just says that they will replace with an identical or similar model with equal or greater value. They have no responsibility to meet any requirements that were part of the original sale (it had to meet a specific space etc).
Therefore, as far as the warranty goes, beyond a replacement I think any other gesture from Hoover may just be goodwill.
Have you had any discussions with who you bought it from? I would have pushed them sooner, as the fridge/freezer should last a reasonable period of time and and failure should not cause any significant inconvenience (which having no fridge for so long could be). It is worth noting though that one of the remedies they may suggest could be a partial refund (due to the time you've owned it).0
