Nationwide Flexdirect & Santander

My year on this (5% on £2.5k) is up. Are you able to open a new one or do you just move your money out, ring them up and cancel the account? (MUST you ring them to cancel the account *groan*)?

Tried opening a Santander 123 account 3 weeks ago and they said they'd get back to me but NOTHING as yet. Very poor, no?

You can't open a new one yet.
You have to ring to close the old one..
    ...then wait 12 months...
...then apply again, if the offer is still on.

Just transferred the £2.5k to one of my other accounts. Will ring to close this pronto. Don't want another 10 billion accounts just to get an extra % or 2...

We opened numerous accounts with this bank, make yourself a appointment, take all the paperwork with you , ie proof of identity, utility bill , etc, & all the work will be done for you.We have had excellent customer service from them, & I have only got good words for this local bank and staff.

There is a postal closure form too, just no online one.

I feel your pain, we have 3 of these closing by the end of November. Might be time to pay off the stoozed credit cards? :)
