Affordable Warmth Scheme
Options
Hi All
I have had a call from my Mum who has been offered a free replacement A rated boiler as part of the Affordable Warmth Scheme.
I am just wondering if anyone has had any experience of this and if it is all legit and above board.
The scheme looks good from the outset, but other people experiences with this would be valuable.
The company its going to be provided by is Valley Heating Services (vhsgroup.co.uk/), any experience of this company also?
Thanks

How did she find out about the offer? Was it a cold call? Or did she ring someone to be assessed?
What is her current boiler? Make/model? Age?
I presume she is the house owner? Correct?
With a lot of these free offers , you must read and listed to the "fine print".
Other than the boiler, do you have to pay any additional works? What boiler will the company replace yours with?
You can instigate these things yourself via the energysavingstrust.

You should, as far as I am aware, be able to choose your own installer (so you can ensure they do not install an unreliable boiler brand).
Use the search function on this forum, there is a lot on this subject already and there will be a range of views and experiences good and bad. Basically do your research.
