Child Care Vouchers v Child Tax Credits

Have I got this right before I give my friend duff information.....
She is single resident parent about to return to work and nursery bill will be £650 per month. Her ex partner can get childcare vouchers through work so has suggested as part of his child support he will claim the £243 voucher each month and pay it direct to nursery. Am I right in thinking my friend can still claim childcare tax credits, but only on the remaining £407?
Thanks in advance
