The best place to get one is in a shop that sell Miele vacs, you can't beat them! Get the Cat & Dog TT, you won't regret it!

I recently bought my DC 19 Cylinder Dyson from Amazon. I would regularly check Argos too as they have cyclic offers which include Dyson. Decide the model you want (upright or cylinder) and compare prices. Even Currys have Dyson discounts sometimes.

As the previous poster implied, the choice of the brand is highly subjective. I've had Dyson's for years and find them the best compromise. They're far from perfect, as they can be heavy and noisy. However, I decided I didn't want the additional expense of a bag. If you're happy with a bag, Sebo and Miele seem to be the best buys.

Ironically, considering they're mean't to be the iconic brand, I have never read a good review of a Hoover, particularly their bagless ones. They really do sound like they're rubbish. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has ever had a good Hoover in recent years.

I bought a dyson dc11 tw carpetpro allergy 3 weeks ago off ebay.
It was an ex display and described as having a few scratches, I don't mind a few scratches as long as it still did its job. The guarantee was still unregistered so it also came with 5 years worth.
When it arrivied the condition was better than described, so I was happy I got a bargain.

If your set on getting a dyson and you don't mind mixture of colours then remember if ever see a special offer on a base model you can buy the extra bits separately to make it upto a animal spec.

Listen to sav4it. I have had 2 Dysons, DC07 & DC11, both rubbish. I now have Bissell lift off, I posted the link below yesterday, well worth the money.
