Business Bank Account query re cash deposit

Hello - I hope this is the right place to post this silly question
on the business bank account with Santander you pay a monthly fee based on your cash deposits - am I correct in thinking this means HARD COLD CASH over the counter - or CASH as in including cheques bacs etc?
