"Urgent" message from Santander

I received a message with the sender name "Santander" with the message "Important message for LEON ********. Please contact us on 02030596525 regarding a recent transaction. This is an urgent matter. Thank you"
What could this be? How urgent is this likely to be too? I can't contact them until the morning.
I'm really nervous as I have quite a lot of money in my bank

Most likely it's some suspicious card transaction(s).
If it's not some automated service requiring just a confirmation that you recognise the transaction(s) I would call some number published on their website instead.0 -
Call the number on the back of your debit card, and call it now.
It is most likely not a scam but better call a number you are sure is a Santander number.0 -
Dont wait till morning.0

Not sure why you've asterisked out your surname when it appears to be in your MSE username ;P
But call Santander back on a number of your choosing, preferably from their website or your card, and not from a text.0 -
When I call Barclaycard in a similar situation (from a phone registered with them) their computer just asks me to press, say, '1' if I am not who it thinks I am, and then press, say, '2' if I don't recognise the transaction that it reads to me. I am not asked to reveal any personal information. But call Santander back on a number of your choosing, preferably from their website or your card, and not from a text.
The point is that it's easier to try calling the number in the text message first before trying other numbers.0 -
call them immediately.
As someone else said, always call the number on your card, never the one provided. (just in case)0
