Online Rip-Off What are my Rights?

My best friends recently had a baby, so being the lovely thoughtful person that I am, I ordered a baby box from www.babybox-online.com for £54.95 inc p&p.
I received a confirmation e-mail telling me that my order would be delivered within 48 hours (obviously important for a gift for a newborn). 10 days later no gift has been dispatched. Despite numerous attemmpts, I have been unable to reach the company either by telephione or e-mail.

I have literally been pressing re-dial for dozens of times in a row and always get the engaged tone. They have obviously taken the phone off the hook.

Any suggestions?

How did you pay hoggy? If via credit card I think now is the time to contact them about doing a chargeback.

  • Paid by Visa Debit card, I'll contact my bank. It makes me mad though and I look like a skinflint for not sending a present...
  • Just contacted my bank - You have to wait 30 days to claim a chargeback. I am visiting my friends on Sunday, I will have to take them a present, so I hope that the babybox doesn't arrive after that!

By the way the website is www.babybox-online.co.uk not .com as I said earlier

According to their site you can return goods within 7 working days of reciept, so you should be ok if they turn up today.
Their terms and conditions state that most orders are delivered within 48 hours but to allow up to 5 days, this has been 10 days with no contact.

Looks like you are going to have to buy something else and go for a refund :(
    Good luck!

Just out of interest Hoggy, why dont you make up your own box? I know when I had my 2 little angels (cough cough) I was up to my ears in clothes that they grew out of fairly quickly.

The things I really needed were nappies, wipes, vest, johnsons baby bath etc. I know its a more practical gift, but a nice hamper filled with usefulo things would be lovely :)
