My daughter had a Young Saver account at TSB which needed updating now she is 19. Going off to uni, after looking at MSE, she decided to go for Santander's deal. She made an appointment and found she was declined and told to join experian to find out why. The only thing was we had moved house in April and her electoral roll was still at previous address. She returned to Santander and they said the account would go through after a few days or they would appeal so not to worry. On the day before going off to uni, she was still waiting and they said they would have it sorted the following day and would phone her about going to her local branch near uni to sort it out. Nothing happened and my daughter went to the local Santander to ask and found she had been declined on Monday due to not having any credit history! I have since heard of other problems with Santander customer service.
