Hi three questions
1, internet explorer keeps on stopping working and then fix's itself
WHY?
2, is it easier to reinstall a fresh OS using an OS disc windows 7 or to use the 5 back up disc's that was made when the laptop was new.
3, where will I find the windows Key for my OS on the laptop?
Thanks
Would reinstalling the OS get rid of and infection that may be on the lappy?

1. Who knows? Until your system is analysed, we can only guess.
2. Six of one and half a dozen of the other. But a clean install with a single disc will result in a leaner and faster running machine.
3. On the underneath. But you won't need it if you use the recovery image.
Why didn't you number the fourth question?
I'll do it for you.
4. Yes.

I have found two numbers one on the bottom of the lappy
Product Key = 25 digits
and this one is in system property's
Product ID = 00359 - OEM -8888888 - 88888
Which will I need to do a fresh install of the OS?
Will I need to do driver installs or will windows take care of that automatically ?

Did you select all of the items found and remove them?
Perhaps you won't need to run a clean install if a Malware clean up will suffice.0 -

Thank you for that it is looking like a clean install as there is no recovery partion.
It is windows explorer not IE that stops working.

If using the recovery media you won't need anything, if using a proper Windows disc then you will need the product keyWhich will I need to do a fresh install of the OS?
As above with the recovery media, but if it's a proper Windows disc you will need to install all of the hardware drivers yourself. Will I need to do driver installs or will windows take care of that automatically ?
You may not see the recovery partition under My Computer, although Disk Manager will show it.Thank you for that it is looking like a clean install as there is no recovery partion.Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car

You can do a total reinstall of Windows 7 without damaging your user accounts, data, installed programs, or system drivers. For this, you need 3 things -
1. access to a standard Win7 installation DVD.
2. your original 25-character product key.
3. a current backup, to be safe if the process goes wrong.
Essentially, you use the upgrade option to reinstall the same version as is currently on your machine.
For a full, stage-by-stage description of the process, complete with screenshots, see the Windows Secrets article from 2011, at:
