PPI Claim

I have just received an "offer" from RBS and i think it is low. I have phoned them and ask for breakdown to figure but they said they dont provide that type of info. Their letter doesnt even give me information on the length of time the premiums were paid over! Surely they are legally bound to provide the background to the figure? I do intend to put my request in writing.

You need to know how much the PPI and the interest was in the first place, with a loan, was this settled early and is it a goodwill gesture from the bank or was it upheld?.
You only get PPI back that you actually paid.
Why do you think they have not given enough?.
