Credit Rating: decreasing credit limit and Putin

Hello mates,
I was surprised to be rejected recently in almost all my credit card applications while my previous cards had large credit limits (around 3600).
Recently, I have asked to decrease my credit to 500 in the cards that I do not use. Could this be the cause of confusion when banks estimated my credit ratings?
Another suggestion could be that I have Russian nationality. Could Putin influence my credit rating with his stupid ambitions?

I believe the sanctions only apply to very rich Russians connected directly to Vladimir. The (not so rich) Russians that I know haven't had any problems, one has gotten a mortgage completed yesterday.0

Yeah, I think that can be reason behind your application rejected. Write letter again to credit bureau after some time.0
