can you balance transfer from Halifax to Llyods card?

just applied and been successful in obtaining a Llyods Platinum Balance card.. they have given me a 4k limit so will cover my Halifax card balance of 3k just coming to the end of its 0% deal,. but now just read on the net they are part of the same banking group and you can't transfer between them! bit of a blow as thought i was sorted!

does anybody know for sure whether i can balance transfer between these cards? i havent been sent my Llyods card details yet so can't see if it works or not online. if not i guess i will have to apply for another balance transfer card in a few mths time and keep the Llyods just for its 12 mth 0% purchases deal.

If you do successfully manage to do the transfer it would be good for others if you could come back and confirm it worked (I'm not sure anyone has posted after trying since LLoyds posted that rule change).

I balance transferred from my Lloyds card over to Halifax last week without any issues.
