sold collection only item, payment received but no response.

Hi, recently sold an item on eBay for collection. Buyer has paid but will not respond to my messages about collecting. I have a feeling they didn't understand the collection only as I live in the Midlands and they're in Middlesex.
They have zero feedback. They're out of pocket so not sure what happens?

Refund them and ask them to pay cash on collection!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I thought if you refunded the money you would get a default?

    What exactly is a default?

Effectively a strike against your account by eBay. Defects are shown as a percentage of total sales (so, 100 sales, 1 defect, 1% defect rate). I believe that if you get above 5%, then your account is potentially in trouble.

There are various different ways in which you can get a defect, and refunding a Paypal payment without cancelling the transaction is one of them.

A nasty destructive idea thought up by eBay to punish sellers. A lot of very good sellers have been affected and accounts are likely to be lost .

It is worth keeping an eye on your seller dashboard, if you click on that in the drop down menu you get a pop up with your own stats.
