Credit Card Eligibility Amex - 0%

I've been looking at getting an Amex with 5% cashback.
I have used the eligibility checker in the past and I seem to remember getting a decent score for this card 50-60%.
My circumstances haven't changed but I now get a score of 0% and am told that I am not elegible for this card.
I'm 25, full time employed, private tennant (1 year), earning over 30,000 a year. So I'm not sure what is making the checker reject my application. Any advice would be nice.

The checkers really arent that much more than a wet finger in the air (but are a good way to present affiliate links to generate income from people giving away their data)
The real way of seeing if you will be accepted or not is to apply.
Remember that in a lot of cases you get additional bonuses if you get referred by an existing AmEx member to apply for the card0 -

I think if the eligibility checker is giving a 0% chance then there is either an error with the input, or the likelihood of getting accepted is actually 0.
For example when trying for an MBNA card, it gives 0% if you put student as the occupation, regardless of any other factors. When I was a student (with 6 cards a 50k total credit limit) that is what I got, but when I resubmitted the same data saying that I was part-time employed, it gave me a 90% chance.0 -

Thats because the eligibility checkers are simply a marketing tool for MoneySupermarket etc with the results being nothing more than a wet finger in the air. There is no liaising with the lenders in question to get their view, its simply lets band customers, lets band cards and generate a percentage based on their match level.
Of cause it does generate an affiliate link so if they get you excited that you'll probably be accepted you click through and they get their £25 if you are accepted.
I used one of these out of curiosity and was given ~70% for getting a MBNA card which is amusing as I always get declined for MBNA cards. Applied and was declined. Was given ~20% for a Barclaycard card and after apply and a chat was given a £9k limit
Didnt click through from the checker so deprived the website their affiliate marketing fee for their junk "eligibility checker".0 -

You are wrong about the checker and you don't seem to understand how probability works: 70%≠100% and 20%≠0%0 -

By my calculations the probability of being accepted for the Barclaycard and not being accepted for the MBNA was 6%.
That sounds very low to me.
Maths is right by my finger and thumb counting too.
That also doesnt factor in the fact that if you've only a 20% chance of being accepted at all you'd expect a fairly low limit to be given as you are only just scraping into their acceptability. £9k for a new card aint a bad limit these days and certainly doesnt say just scraping in to me.0 -
