Considering a DRO.

Options
Considering a DRO.
  • Hi all, I am considering a DRO.
  • About £12K total debts built up from many years.
  • We are struggling with cost of living and no way to repay ever.
  • We have an old car worth about £1000
  • Less than £50 per month left after everything
  • Getting behind with bills, lots of credit companies hassling us everyday.
So my question relates to our utilities and water bills. We really are struggling with such a rapid rise in cost of living and most of our income goes to paying rent and council tax. The tiny bit left is for kids food and clothes and essential.

We have not been able to pay out gas/electric or water bils for a few months now. They are threatening cutting us off, which is understandable.

I am waiting anyday now for them to cut us off and then have prepay meters fitted as they warned us. Then do they try and recoup the money we owe them through our top ups.

So if I did a DRO, would I still have to slowly repay these debts? Or would my top ups just be for the new electricity I will use?

Thank in advance.
