Parking Eye PCN - Morrisons Stratford

Hi all,
I have received a PCN from these guys. I parked in the Morrisons at Stratford, bought some stuff from the store (and paid by card so have bank statement evidence to prove I shopped there), was there about 30 mins so would have qualified for free parking if I had paid a £1 and got it refunded from the store. It's the first time I have been in a supermarket that used this system (supermarkets are typically free to park in) so didn't realise I actually had to pay in advance (and didn't notice the signs even though they are there).
Obviously I would rather not take them up on their generous offer to pay the bargain price of £60 for the privilege of shopping at Morrisons so just wondering if I should use the template from here:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822
Or if I should lodge an appeal and attach my bank statement etc stating that since I would have got free parking due to shopping in the store then they haven't lost anything etc and should cancel?
Thanks in advance

For your appeal to PE use the second option - they have been known to cancel when presented with proof of money being spent. Also complain to Morrisons.
Do not use this appeal for POPLA though."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -
You sort of do both.
Use template . Add point d) that you were a genuine customer and here is the proof. (Enclose heavily redacted copy of statement, in other word only name, address and the 1 transaction showing)
Also go to Morrison's and complain.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Click on words Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Newbie thread is the first post. Blue New Thread button is just above it to left.0 -
Thanks for the tips... I have gone for the hybrid approach and included a copy of the transaction from my bank...
and yes I will be making a complaint to Morrisons... in fact I will go as far as to never use their store again*... never seen a supermarket employ these sort of tactics on their shoppers before.
*Except for exceptional circumstances such as hunger as I do find the breakfasts in their cafes quite tasty0 -
check the sticky threads for the name of the person to complain to at their head office (working on behalf of Dalton Philips) - cant remember her name but its been mentioned recently on here with her email addy
the more complaints they get as the employer of the PPC, the better
please bear in mind that normally "supermarkets are NOT free to park in" - not any more
they provide a lot of the threads on here, especially aldi and lidl and morrissons and asda etc
plus airports, ports, stations , retail parks, visitor attraction car parks , health centres , hospitals and parking in housing and flats developments etc0 -

Thanks! I found it and have emailed the CEO and his assistant. I don't normally use Morrisons and when I have been in a supermarket that is near a town (tescos for example) they normally have a barrier system where you prove you are a genuine shopper on your way out by presenting a token you get from the store you shopped in... not 2 weeks later!0
