I switched to Scottish Power a fix rate about 2 months ago. I gained £30.00 switching fee and £80.00 love to shop vouchers so I'm £110.00 up!
Anyway, I had an email from Martin lewis club saying the a smaller provided was cheaper by for fixed fuel at around £85.00 and even a bigger play Sainsburys was around £55.00 cheaper. My current tarrif does not tie me in. I'm on Online Fixed Price Energy July 2015.
Should I change to get the cheaper fee even after such a short time? Would you?
Or would you wait till you can I can gain the extra swapping fee of £30 extra in a years time.
At the moment I £144 in credit to SP.

Thanks for reading.

  • Those cash back offers often rotate round all the compare sites. So if you checked all the compare sites you may find one is already offering cash back.

How was the cheap energy club assessing the new deal was cheaper. Was it using up to date readings?

I switched to Scottish power (same deal as you). Scottish Power also released their own cheaper tariff. Ensure that the cheap energy club and other searches show any new tariffs with the supplier you are already with. I use energyhelpline as it always shows every company, even those you are with.

I switched from the fixed online July 2015 tariff to the Fixed online October 2015 tariff only 1 month after joining Scottish Power. Only Extra Energy is £1 cheaper for me. I like the flexibility of there being no cancellation fee.

What are your kwh figures out of interest.

Good point I hadn't thought about using another comparison sites.
Yes it was using up pretty up to day readings. (The energy bill for last year.)
I had a quickly look a SP tariff comparison but moving onto another one within Scottish power would be more expensive for me.

I looks like I need to look into this further.
