Travelex Cash Passport Globe

Heading off on Sunday to Portugal. I currently have the Travelex cash passport Globe. There appear to be two versions of this? One bought before 19th November 2012 which I've got and another version for after that date. My version appears to have a transaction rate of 1.49% whereas the new one has a rate of 2.49%.
I was just checking the card was still good to use but the guides now seem to show the FairFX card or the canton one. Is this because the newer version of my card has the higher rate? Is my version still good to use?
Probably to late to arrange an alternative now but I'd just like to know. I presume when my card expires next year I'll move to the one one with the higher rate and at that point I'll have to shop around.

The prepaid card section of the travel spending guide is pretty useless tbh... for one thing they don't mention Kalixa Pay at all, which is the cheapest prepaid card for many spending patterns.
If you already have the 1.49% version of the TravelEx Globe card, I'd just use that - unless you can (be bothered to) open a Metro Bank current account to get even better rates.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
Tony - I have the same version as you and used it in August. I got the old, superior rate, so I see no reason why you won't.
I've had the card just over two years and have to say it's been brilliant.0
