I need some help and advice here please! :-)
I recently had to have 4 new tyres on my car - Audi A6 Quattro
I decided against going for full budget tyres, and went for middle of the range brand kumho - because of the size they were far from cheap.
I had them fitted by a local tyre shop, but ever since they have been fitted ive had vibrations through the car.
Ive been back now 3 times for them to try swapping wheels around and re-balancing etc.. but its still not really any better.
Im now at a loss for what to do!
My car used to ride smooth as anything and now it feels like my wheels are egg shaped, but i have no confidence the tyre shop is going to be able to fix this problem, despite it being related to the tyres they have sold me.
I guess its either a problem with balancing that their relatively cheap balancing equipment cant solve, or a tyre that is out of shape.
The guy in the tyre shop has been mostly ok, but I can tell he is getting frustrated as I beat him up about the price in the first place and its cost him a load in re-balancing already!
Should I just cut my losses and go to a better tyre shop with some of the top line equipment, or have I any redress against the manufacturor directly?
Any help or advise would be much appreciated!
Thanks

Cut your losses and go to a better tyre shop.
They obviously have no idea how to balance the tyres / use the equipment.
Avoid Kwik-Fit/Halfords/National tyres.
Find a small independent you can trust (presonal recommendation).0 -
Yup. Spend the money on someone who will take the time to do the job properly.0

it could be a balance problem or it could be a tyre problem, if it is not balance then it could be what they call radial run-out that is causing the vibration
go to a better tyre shop , if you can find a place that has a hunter road force tyre machine then that is a very good balance system and would show any problem with the tyre

Thanks for the replies so far - I was thinking of trying a road force system actually, so that might be the best way to sort it out.
Cheers!

kumbo is a very good tyre ,would be odd if all 4 tyres were faulty, sounds like they cant balance the wheels0

It would be interesting to know the result...0

Have had anything done to the wheels at all? Powder coating, for example.0
