holiday insurance question

hi guys, hope i've posted this in the right area, me and hubby are going to Tenerife in January 2015, i booked it 6 months ago and took out holiday insurance at the time of booking through Direct Travel as they had good reviews.
3 weeks ago my husband who has always been in good health, had to have an Ablation on his heart as he had an abnormal rytham, he's been fine since the procedure.
My first question is do i need to tell the insurance company as he was fine when i booked it ?
secondly if i do need to tell them how much would the policy increase by ? or do i need to take out a new policy ?
Any help would be great, thanks

Read the policy to be sure but with most policies any new heart condition after the policy starts and before the trip must be notified immediately.

Ask them to confirm receipt of your email if that is how you intend disclosing the heart condition to them.
