Ordering a sofa

Hi all
We are due to move in to our new build house in approx 6/7 weeks and need to order our sofa.
We have found one we like from Next which takes about 8 weeks to build & deliver.
Does anyone know if we are able to order it yet, as due to being a new build our address isn't actually registered yet?
I don't really want to wait 8 weeks after move in for a sofa!
Any help/advice would be appreciated!
Thanks:T

Do you have an address for the new place yet, postcode etc?0

We have an address however it is not registered so doesn't come up when the postcode etc is put in. We are number 30 and currently you can only find up to number 21!0

If you are ordering in-store or over the phone then you should just be able to explain the situation. You can have a different delivery address to your billing address because we ordered a Next sofa in-store just before we moved in and they were OK with it (address was existing though).
If ordering online then the "computer says no effect" will come into effect. Might be easier to actually speak to a human0 -
Just make sure you have a backup plan in case your house isn't ready for when your sofa arrives. We are supposedly just under 3 weeks from completion and the developers told us yesterday that they have a problem with the electricity meters which might delay things at the last minute. Personally, I would wait until you have the official notice to complete before ordering - until the developer issues that notice you have no guarantee on timelines at all.
I know its tempting to want to have everything perfect from the moment you move in (I feel exactly the same!) but its pretty risky.
We spent about 4 months on blow up plastic chairs from Argos when we moved into our first flat (had just moved back from abroad so we couldn't order in advance) - with hindsight it wasn't that bad really.
Also, unless you are buying a house where you have seen an identical completed one its very difficult to imagine the space and how it works. You may even find that the new sofas don't fit as well as you thought they would.0 -
We got our sofas from Next and despite saying they would take 8-10 weeks, they were ready to be delivered after 3. Our situation was the other way round - we were refurbishing a house and wanted to put them off being delivered for as long as possible! Just double check with them on lead times.0

I'm sure they will hold back delivery in order to get your order, all they want is your upfront payment, sorry if that sounds cynical.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
