Faulty Sony USB wireless adapter
Spank
In September 2011 I purchased a TV deal from Richer sounds (32” TV, free wireless dongle and a half price Blu-ray player all Sony)
The TV & Blu-ray both detect the dongle (Sony UWA-BR100) (so does the router), but the dongle does not detect a signal.
Any idea if it’s totally fubar or is there anything that could fix it?
If not what are the chances of RS replacing it? (I took out the 5 year extended warrantees on the TV and Blu-ray but not the adapter)

Has it ever worked, or has it recently stopped working?0
-
Yeah it's always worked, up until last Thursday/Friday when I noticed that the iplayer wouldn't work.
I have tried it in both machines & resetting the router as well.0 -
If it has really failed, there are other much cheaper options.
Example: Edimax CV-7428nS N300 Universal Wi-Fi Bridge for Smart TV, Blu-ray and Gaming
Here for £15.
or
TP-Link TL-WA890EA N600 Universal Dual Band WiFi Entertainment Adapter with 4 Ports £24.82
or
NetGear WNCE3001 N600
Universal WiFi Adapter 802.11n Dual Band
Here for £250 -
RS were no help, couldn't even test it as all TV's have wifi built in & don't sell the adapter anymore (don't know what would of happened if I had taken out the extended warranty).
The TP adapter (Edimax had to many bad reviews) should be arriving tomorrow from Amazon, which is nice and fast as it was free delivery option)0 -

Thanks for the offer but I have already got the TP-Link TL-WA890EA N600 Universal Dual Band WiFi Entertainment Adapter with 4 Ports £24.82 up and running.
it's working fine except the iplayer, which seems to be an issue with the version Sony have on my machines.0
