Glass etching paste/cream and stencils

Hello
I don't know if anyone has used the above, but I have some paste and want to design a glass for my dad. I don't want to use a pre made stencil as I want it to be personal, but don't know what to use to create my own. I know they have this clear stuff in American called Frisket tape which looks a bit like clear book covering so I wondered if book covering would work?
Thanks
Anna

Sorry Frisket won't work, the glue is just not strong enough!! Try clear Fablon, it definitely works as we did some etching using real acid and a fume cabinet at college!!0
