Zara and the Exchange Rate???

Sorry to put two complaints on in one day but here's a thought!!
Do 'Zara' know something about the pound sterling that the B.O.E. doesn't know? My wife bought a jacket today in Zara ,West Quay, for the sum of £49.99. After our return home I noticed that a new label had been very well stuck over the existing printed price.Originally E45.95!!
Perhaps they are hedging their bets or trying to help pay off the Spanish deficit?
They will be hearing from us shortly.

Hearing from you saying what?
The price does not have to be the ££ equivalent of the euro price.0 -
They can charge whatever they like, wherever they like. I doubt very much they'll be quaking in their boots when they hear from you telling them that you have discovered they have a different pricing structure in the UK than Spain.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

The 2 posters above have covered your issue, but thought I would add this link in.

What are you going to say to them?0

Perhaps I didn't spell it out clearly enough but the point was the exchange rate.I know the pound is getting a bit of a pasting due to the possible U.K. break-up and that Zara knew more than the Bank of England?
I usually find that shops in the U.K. that give pound and euro prices ,mark the pound up to about 1.5% against the euro.0 -

It might be that other costs are higher in the UK - wages, rent, property taxes, employer taxes, lighting etc - and these have to be covered in the prices they charge so you wouldn't expect the price a company charges in different countries to effectively be the same.0 -

The pricing structure Zara use for the UK has absolutely nothing to do with exchange rates. Even if they did, the exchange rate would be the wrong way around, the £ price would be less than the €.
You seem to think that they have taken a price of €45.95 and converted that to a price of £49.99. They haven't. They sell clothes at totally unrelated prices, and are within their rights to do so.
So, what is it you're going to be telling them?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
OK.I surrender.0
