Nice wedding gift ideas if gong to evening do

Hi we have been invited to the evening do of my friends daughters wedding (who I've only met once so don't really know them).
I asked my friend what we could give as a gift and she said they haven't asked for anything so don't have to buy anything but up to us...
The thing is we would like to get them something but have no idea really what to get, I thought maybe some wine glasses or a nice vase or something but want to get something they'll appreciate.
Does anyone please have any ideas.

I would probably just get vouchers in that instance. The risk with buying stuff if people don't specifically have a gift list would be too much for me - what if they've got it already? What if they don't like my taste? Whereas vouchers seem closer to a proper present than cash because it has to be spent in a specific place and couldn't just get sucked into paying bills etc (though some people might find that more useful).
However, if you do want to get them a 'proper' present, I'd go with something like wine glasses - fairly classic (don't get anything engraved or too fancy - just nice ones out of John Lewis/Debenhams will do) and useful in case any they've got already get broken. A bottle of champagne tends to be appreciated (unless they don't drink, obviously). However, the best off-list present we received was some money to spend on a meal out. We ensured we used it solely for that purpose.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0

Another vote for a bottle of fizz and maybe some choccys

I always like to get people something from Spaceform for their wedding day, usually get one that I can have engraved with their names and the date of the wedding - but they do generic ranges too like this one that wishes the couple have health, wealth and happiness
So far everyone I've given one too have loved it, especially the personalised ones, nobody is allergic to it lol, nobody will be offended (as like with drink or maybe chocolates) and if you select a really simple, classy style, you can't go far wrong at allHonorary Northern Bird bestowed by AnselmI'm a Board Guide and volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly on Special Occasions, Green/Ethical, Motoring/Overseas/UK Travel & Flood boards, it's not part of my role to deal with reportable posts. Vouchers and then they can choose,
When we wed, we ended up with several sets of champagne flutes and the generic gifts, a lot of which ended up in charity shopsWith love, POSR0
