Hi, i started work (16hrs a week) on 20th Aug. As my partners classed as incapacitated because hes in receipt of DLA, i only have to work 16 hrs to claim WTC
im already getting CTC so only had to really update my details to add WTC to the claim. I rang them last Tues. A few people ive spoken to said their WTC was sorted within a week. How long does it usually take?
Also is WTC usually paid on the same day as CTC? Ill have some backdated WTC to come so waiting for a lump sum. My next weekly payment of CTC is due tomorrow. Do you think ill have the first payment of WTC in aswell?

Did you mention that your partner receives DLA when you updated the work for you? Tax credits would only record adult disability where the disabled person works. So if they don't have it recorded, the system will only see 16 hours worked, not 16 hours worked with a disabled partner.
If you call, make sure you know which components of DLA your partner receives, care or mobility, low, middle or high rate, and when it started, to save you having to call twice.Anything I post on here is my own personal opinion, and quite likely not the view of my employer. My knowledge may not be up-to -the minute current, but I'll give you the best I can.0
