Please help and advice me......
My car was reversed into whilst I was at work a few weeks ago, I was not in the car at the time and the lady admitted liability at the scene also on a note which was left on my window screen, as well as verbally to my insurance company.
My car has been written off and a figure agreed but now nothing....no cheque no nothing, I chased my Albany assist which are dealing with it and they said that she has not notified her insurance company Hastings Direct so I have to wait until she does!!!!
There must be something I can do? I'm out of pocket and with out a car for something that was not my fault!

How/ why did she notify your insurance company? And by "your insurance company" do you actually mean Admiral/Bell/ Elephant etc or Albany Assistance?
Are you in a hire car from Albany at the moment?
Albany are a claims management company and so are just representing your claim to the TPI for you. They'd never send a total loss cheque as these arent done on credit. If you are in one of their hire cars then there really isnt much incentive for them to push things through as the longer you wait the more they earn.
If you are desperate for the cheque then get the claim redirected back to your own insurance and let them settle it first and then they will attempt recovery from the TPI for their outlay. Its not ideal because there are short/ mid term impacts on your policy but does at least get the cheque.
Have you spoken to her insurers? If you are in credit hire then certainly make that clear to them as it may encourage them to pull their finger out.0 -
Try ringing Hastings up directly as Albany have a really poor reputation that they spent a lot of time earning. There are frequent reports of them being v v slow and telling their client it's the other side when in fact they had not been ringing or chasing as they had said they were0

I'm not in a hire car, I have borrowed a family members car at present. I am with admiral who put me through to Albany.
My insurance company contacted her to ask a question and whilst talking to them she admitted again liability.
Is it ok for me to contact her? Or her insurance? Feel a little lost with what my rights are!
She just need to tell her insurance company.....so frustrating0 -

I sympathise with you, having not claimed for 30 years, someone reversed into my parked car, they left their details, but due to the small print, legalities, ALL of the above companies were involved, ( most probably linked via a parent company no doubt), hidden fees, excessive phone calls from my mobile, time, money, red tape and politics, I am DEFINITELY steering clear of all of the above companies, I feel sorry for everybody that has to deal with them.
Even in my time of need None of them would help without some form of signature or credit card details to remove any form of risk or liability that may come their way.
Definitely peed off.
And to top that, whilst going through the claim, AFTER I had phoned twice to say I'm insuring elsewhere, Hastings Direct renewed my policy without telling me using the card details from last year!!0
