Hello.
I'm hoping somebody here can help me. My MIL is turning 65 next month & we have decided to make a gift for her somehow by collecting letters, notes and photographs from her friends and family containing their favourite or fondest memory of MIL. I want to collate all of these things together & think that the best way to do this may be in a large scrapbook.
My question is; is this the best way to collate them? Am I totally overlooking an easier or more effective method? If i do end up making a scrapbook, I'd like to pretty it up somehow and decorate the pages. Can anyone recommend a website to get me started? I know you can buy albums hat you add your own pages to, or maybe a large notebook would be better? I am anticipating that most of the letters we collect will be written on A4 so I am going to need quite a large book.
Can anybody help??? Thanks in advance

Ohhhhhh that's a lovely idea. I'm thinking of doing something similar but for myself as a keep sake. I've done a few bits before but I'm no pro. There are loads of fab scrapbooking magazines out. Pop into WH Smiths as they usually stock a good variety. I preach the fabulousness of Pinterest to everyone as there are great ideas for most things on there. Here are some links to the kind of thing I plan on making:

^ They have a shabby chic diary feel to them so I don't know if that's the style you are going for or if you want a cleaner look, but Google and Pinterest should have some good ideas.
With regards to the book itself, if you have a Paperchase near you they have really good hardback books and they aren't too expensive either. I made a scrapbook for my dad and the book cost £8. I hope this helps and if I come across anything I think might be of interest then I'll post it on here0 -
That's great, thank you for your help. Will try & get hold of a magazine tomorrow.0

I did one of these for my mum, not quite the same I did the meaning of her name, her birth sign a family tree, I added pics and then asked people to write a fond memory.
The one piece of advise I will pass on is look at scrapbooks you can adjust the the depth of, as I filled a normal bound book and it didn't shut properly. I hope this makes sense.

I did a lot of scrapbooking when I lived in the States, they had scrapbooking parties like we have Pampered Chef parties, etc.
This link will give you an idea of how simple or detailed you can be.
