selling a property yourself

Options
Hi everyone
Has anyone used any of the sell yourself sites? Any recommendations?
I am currently in a dilemma I am going to lose on the property I plan to sell. I have spoken to the lender and because I am have paid up to date I don't qualify for any help but I have permission to sell it at a loss!!
Has anyone used those companys who buy the property to take it off your hands. I cannot keep this property so I would really like ideas on how to sell it. (Renting is not an option I have to sell it)

Thanks in advance

Get 3 agents round , explain how low you can go , you will still come out FAR better than one of these shyster companys you talk of
Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.
  • Thanks Dan -Dan I have had 2 estate agents involved (this sale has taken a long time) and both have been useless I have explained the lowest price they insist on putting it up for more which is fine but had zero viewings one even took all the pictures then failed to put them online plus they want at least £2k for the privilege I just feel very stuck.

You should not need to put money up front to sell a property via a reputable agent, and it's you who determines the price, not them. If for some reason they won't market at the price you set, then you terminate your contract with them as soon as it allows.

If you're in a hurry, the market can set the price via the auction route. This provides more certainly and you are still likely to receive more money than some sleazy quick sale company would give you, especially after they revise their offer downwards at the last moment.

If you aren't quite in fire-sale mode yet, and you're free from contracts with these agents, you could be a little more specific about your location and it's possible someone with a good track record of posts here might know of a decent agent you could use.

    Hi,

I nearly bought a property using Tepilo but didn't go through with it in the end. As a buyer it was easy and as a seller the vendor also raved about it. As long as you are happy to do viewings it will save you a fortune.
