Misold ppi

I was missold ppi from DFS due to them knowing I was on sickness benefit at the time. I have just received a form from them wanting to know what percentage of my salary I was paid and for how long. Also did I have any insurance to protect my income and did I have a life insurance policy. Why do they want to know all this? What has this to do with PPI claim? Any advice gratefully received.

Why do they want to know all this?

Because they want verification of what your employer offered or what you had in the way of personal provision to see if there was an overlap. If there was an overlap then it can help your complaint with some types of PPI.

Remember that there is nothing wrong with having PPI.

Because it helps them assess, if there were any sales failings , how you would have acted were it not for those failings. Simple as that really.
