What to do with old car?

Get it fixed properly this time. Will work out cheaper than buying a new car.
I've just copped for a wheel bearing on my car - OH moaning "costing more money". Yet the money I just spent is still less than depriciation of a new car.0 -
As a steering column for these is around £400 trade, I'd not include it as a service repair like a wheel bearing. Realistically a proper repair including labour, will swamp the value of the car.0

There's nothing quite like spending £5k on a new car to avoid a £500 repair billWhat goes around - comes around0 -

But still far cheaper than a new car and the costs associated with that.
The value of a car is pretty irrelevant if you want to keep it running. Just paid for new bonnet and spray on my car. Cost was 25% of car's value but still worth it as I intend to keep car as long as I can.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
Does your car have the enduring steering fault of the Micra, the rusty crossmember or failing electrical loom? They aren't going to improve with age.0
