Convert files

Hi,

Have been sent some .pub files and I cannot open them as i dont use/have publisher

Can these be converted to either .ai files (illustrator) or a normal jpeg?

If so, please how is it done

1) go back to the author and as them to export in a different format
2) use an online convertor to such as https://www.pdfonline.com/convert_pdf.asp
