butlins skegness

Hi, I am looking at booking our next years holiday and was looking at maybe going to butlins in Skegness, not booking through themselves though, could never afford there prices but booking a private caravan, can book 14 nights for cheaper than 7 nights direct with butlins, my question is twofold really, what is the site like, I have worked at the minehead camp and had a holiday at Bognor regis so was wondering is Skegness comparable to those 2, also if I booked 14 nights is there enough to do there and in the surrounding area to keep us busy for 14 nights, I was born in Grimsby but have lived in the southwest for 2o years(half my life) now, so cant quite remember what there is about.
TIA
TIA
Take every day as it comes!!

Try TripAdvisor. Is this it http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g2281308-d284888-Reviews-Butlins_Skegness_Resort-Ingoldmells_Lincolnshire_England.html#REVIEWS
If not, see if it comes up through their 'search' facility on that page, top right - in the white box.Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0 -
We have done Butlins Skegness for many years, we love it but it is what it is - it's a holiday camp - we mainly go as there is plenty to entertain our little boy (3yr old) which keeps us happy.
We have stayed in their accommodation many times, it was clean but beds were not the best etc.
This year we stayed in a private caravan owned by these

It was perfect and would definately go back in a private caravan.
14 nights might be pushing it a bit, we found 7 enough.0 -
14 days in Skegness, I think you should be checking in for 14 days in Bedlam for even considering it. Skegness is a dump (although the beech and park are really nice), Butlins was a dump (2010) but I think they have made some improvements since then and Ingoldmels (where Butlins is) is a disgusting place full of louts with a horrible stone/sand beach (I was there on Sunday).
Grimsby probably hasn't changed much since you lived there and in all probability was a lot nicer when you did live there. Cleethorpes is the same as ever, a nice beach with amusements etc but nothing you wouldn't find at Skegness.
I can see the attraction of Butlins and I am all for holidays in the UK but personally anything more than a few days in the UK and I find it cheaper and more fun to go abroad.0
