Its a stock letter they've sent. They are not saying that there is a financial associate but that the reason for the rejection MAY have come from either him or a financial associate (if one exists)

Don't try to find sense where there is no any.

- this is nonsense as M&S work out the credit score themselves based on the information the CRA(s) hold and supply to M&S.

This can be some discrepancy between the data your son supplied to M&S when applying and the information in the credit file(s).
Any chance that as a student he has more than one active address reported to CRAs?

M & S Have just phoned and told him the reason he was rejected is because he does not have a "big enough" credit history,once he has built up a credit history he can re apply

I think most probably becuase he is a student he was rejected.

So, is it a problem with MSE link or the link at the https://online.email.hsbc.co.uk/mandsBank/msmexclusive/ page? I guess it's the latter.

No problems here (FF) if all scripts are allowed. Any chance you have some scripts blocker add-on?
