Coverage at university for student under 18

That's a good idea, thanks (the Whatever Happens one)!
The problem with any form of gadget insurance policy is that he is under 18 and can't enter into the contract. That is what started all of this off.
Whatever Happens won't cover theft, which from my University experience is the most likely thing to happen to render the laptop useless to your son.
Again - can you not insure the laptop for him? You can take out a protect my bubble policy? Then next year he can?0 -
His current net worth is about £1,000. Is it worth insuring against that? It will cost you an absolute fortune, relative to what you are actually protecting. Insurance is supposed to be for expensive things that would be difficult to recover from. For a mobile phone and a laptop, you are throwing money down the drain.0

Got a quote for £150 from an earlier link (monthly payments available), covering up to three items.
But we would struggle to magic a few hundred quid out of the air, yes.0
