Hi,
Just signed up to do an economics degree with the OU. Like the title says, just wondering whether it would be possible to sign up for a student account?
Do any OU students on here have a student account or do you just make do with your normal one?
Thanks!

From what I've read here and elsewhere the issue is that the banks require full time study to be able to open a student account and OU is automatically regarded as part time. If you are doing enough credits at OU to justify being seen as full time (more than 16 hours per week probably) then you may be able to persuade a bank in person to consider you - the Co-op was mentioned by one person as a possibility.0

Technically, yes; you can. In real life, no.
You have no need for a student account as it is likely part time study; that is the reason that most financial institutions will give you.0
