Supplier objecting to switch

I am currently with iSupply energy for electricity.
I've decided to switch because I'm not happy with either of my existing suppliers (nower for gas) even though there's a charge of £30 to leave iSupply.

isupply have messaged me to say

Can anyone explain what this means? Can a supplier stop me from switching? (I can't make phone calls from work easily).

If they can how do I retreive money they owe me.
When I started they set my DD really high (£179). I objected and they lowered it a bit. I was told I could claim back the excess after my first bill. When I rang after my first bill I was told I couldn't have the money back but they'd lower my payment. Since then I've installed solar panels and live away so use hardly any leccy.
So if they can stop me switching, how do I get my money back from them.
One of the reasons I want to get away is that they haven't played fair with the amount they've charged (or getting it back).

    Thanks

Thank You Lisyloo for bringing this to our attention, that is what this forum is all about.

What complete and utter scum ISupply are, twisting rules and taking your money.

I think you should make a complaint to Ofcom they will not deal with your individual complaint but if enough people complain they may tighten rules.

On the recordings side they are obliged to provide you with your personal data which includes any notes they make on your account record, that will include dates and times. They also have to give recordings of your phone calls, it is personal data.

Look up the company's head office, send a recorded delivery letter to the data controller and say that you are making a Subject Access Request for ALL personal data held.

They can charge you £10 for this but it will cost them a lot more to provide it. They often lie about the recordings, saying they only keep them for 3 months but if they have ever referred to a recording suggesting otherwise you can put in a complain to the Information Commissioner at the ICO.

I for one appreciate your reporting this, I would never deal with ISupply now, what complete tyrants, funding their company by taking consumers hard earned cash.
Thanks, don't you just hate people with sigs !

    .

May be a slip of the mind but it's Ofgem you should complain to.

Ofcom is the industry regulator for the telecoms industry, not for gas and electricity.
