Claiming PPI on bank loan&credit card

Hi All,
If anyone could help me - does anyone know if you can claim back PPI on a credit card&loan from back in 2000/2001 I defaulted on the payments and it went to debt recovery of the bank. The loan&credit card debt was paid off in Oct 2010 - would I be eligible for claiming?
Any help with this would be appreciated! Thanks.

Do note before you start, if any money was written off as part of a payment plan, the bank may be able to use any PPI redress to cover that.
As this is the case you MUST NOT, repeat MUST NOT, use a claims firm, they will demand their % of any "refund" you get, even if you don't receive a penny.Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
