Need some advice PLEASE!!!

I don't have the best credit rating, far from it to be honest, it's very poor. But I'm looking at ways to improve it was was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on how to do so?

Recently somehow got accepted for a credit card (it's 26% APR though) and a sim only contract. Will paying both of these (if I use the credit card) vastly improve my credit rating or?

Are there any other things I can do or any great companies that accept low credit users?
I've never had a CCJ or anything major just quite a few unpaid bills from when I were young and childish!

Recently got myself a decent job too, so money isn't in issue, I just REALLY want to improve my credit score!

Thanks in advance :)

    Hi Jamlfc,
It’s great to hear that you are looking at ways to try and improve your credit score. It looks like you are on your way to build yourself credit history with your newly accepted credit card and your mobile phone sim contract.

Staying within the agreed credit limits and making necessary monthly repayments in full and on time, paying more than the minimum off your credit cards each month if you can could have an impact to your credit score.

Here is a section of hints and tips to improve your Credit Score which you might find useful, and congratulations with the new job and best of luck in your journey for improving your credit score.

You don't have a credit rating nor a credit score despite what the Experian chap above wants you to think. This is a ruse to get you to pay for their meaningless score that has no significance in the real world.

You didn't "somehow" get accepted for credit, you met the lenders' lending criteria.
