If you had to use PAYG how would your company even know?

    Ask to see the bill?

Take out a 30-day SIM only plan, show them the bill, then cancel it and go back to PAYG.

That's what I would have done, anyway.

Quite often a sim only is better value than PAYG, especially if you are a medium/heavy user.

Your plan also wouldn't work if the company wanted the bill every month to reimburse business use...

Yes thanks so much d123 I had presumed Tesco would credit check
after finding out EE etc done checks for 1 month contracts!

The package I got doesn't quite match Giffgaffs unlimited data but
it is 4G rather than 3G and I've still got plenty of minutes and texts
to keep me going. The guy in the store also said that if the bills
were all paid on time it would help my chances of getting a contract
with a handset in future as I would have some history as a customer
    from the monthly sim.

I would have cancelled after a month but we are getting a percentage
of our overall calls back from the company so we have to provide
proof by producing a bill to claim it back. Having a contract will make
things easier for my own accounts as well.
