Should an auto renew contract have rights?
DIST
I have just tried to cancel a contract that was automatically renewed and have been told that only the original contract has a cooling off period and the renewed contract has none so I cannot cancel without losing the £60 paid.
As the original contract (taken out on 6/6/204) had a cooling off period of 14 days and was due to last for 3 months, surely this is a contract with an end date and any renewal should be treated as a new contract as it is clearly not an ongoing contract or upgrade?

you will need to review the original documentation from when you first took the contract0

Yup it depends on what it says. Some contracts have wording to the effect that when renewed, unless you sign a whole new contract then the same conditions apply (such as a rental guarantor signing up for 6 months, if the contract renews they can be held liable after the 6 months if the wording is correct)0
