We aren't writing about old laptops, but 'as new' condition shop returns.

I have 2 experiences of electronic refurbs.

I bought an ipad from apple as a refurb. It was as new (in fact it probably was new) other than it needed an ios update that the new, new ones shipped with.

I also bought a refurb PS3 from Game, that was supposedly and looked "as new". After 2 weeks use we realised it froze after 30 minutes of use, so it had to be returned.

So I am not against refurbs in principle, but am wary. This laptop is for DS2 who is away at uni. I don't want to get into problems with it during term time, so have decided against refurbs on this occasion.
